We excavate to depth, compact six to eight inches of quarry process in layers rather than all at once, screed a bedding course, lay the pavers to the pattern, cut the edges on site, fit edge restraint, then compact and sweep polymeric sand into the joints. The fall is set away from the house – about a quarter-inch per foot – so meltwater runs off rather than sitting against the foundation.
